Hailing from Canada, Mac Demarco released his debut album, 2, in 2012. The album was released in the same year as his career defining LP, Rock and Roll Night Club, a four track experimental project that gained the attention of music labels. Hence 2 was released and was called “Best New Music” in this generation by music authority, Pitchfork. 2 was in the running for the Polaris Music Prize. DeMarco released his sophomore record Salad Days in 2014 and Third Album This Old Dog in 2017. Both records also received nominations at the Polaris Music Prize Awards for Album of the Year. DeMarco continued to make waves with his subsequent releases, eventually breaking out in the US charts with Here Comes the Cowboy, peaking at number 10 on the Billboard 200. This 2025, DeMarco released his latest album Guitar, spawning “Home” and “Holy” as singles.
