From, way back in the before times... OK fine, the 1970s. A new category of Rock music came out of the independent and underground scenes of the period. But, Alt music absolutely came into its own in the early 90s, a far simpler time, before everyone was always online. Life was good and the music was astounding. Legendary rock bands like Green Day, Foo Fighters, Blink 182, Third Eye Blind and Red Hot Chili Peppers dominated the charts. Hip-Hop icons Wu-Tang Clan, Busta Rhymes and Ice Cube blew up; singer-songwriters Madonna, Alanis Morissette and Sarah McLachlan cemented their reputations as genre-defining superstars. Now, almost a quarter-century after the turn of the twenty-first century, all of those 90s icons are still pounding the pavement, but they are now joined by a new breed of Alt musician...
